Youth & Children’s Work

As a Benefice, we have a few things happening specifically for children and young people.  We also try to make all our family services on Sundays as accessible as possible for all ages.  They often include more child-friendly songs, an all age talk, interactive prayers with colouring sheets and other activities for younger ones.  Please see the services page for details of weekly services.

We have an Interactive Service at Little Horwood on the first Sunday of each month at 11am.  This is designed with all ages in mind, but especially children and young people.  It is quite an informal service, with plenty to engage everyone.  After the service, we have a shared lunch (often sitting in the Recreation Ground) or in the church in cold weather.

In September 2017 we started Fizz, a Benefice Youth Group for all in school years 7-9, meeting in Mursley.  This group is once a month on the 3rd Sunday from 6.30 – 8pm.  Please contact Simon, the Rector, for more details.  From January 2018, the group is also open for young people in school years 10-13.

At Swanbourne Junior School, we run a weekly after-school club called Galaxy.  This is for children from the school and is led by Christians from the churches in the benefice.  We have fun learning more about God through games, activities, craft, stories and discussion.

In December each year, we have special services at each of the 5 churches in the benefice specially designed for younger ones – like the Christingle and Crib Services.
