Sunday August 9th – Trinity 9

There will be a service of Holy Communion at Drayton Parslow at 9:30 and a Family Service at Mursley at 11:00.

For the online service there will be Zoom Morning Prayer (joining details in your emailed invite).
If you don’t already have a copy of the order of service you will need to download a copy here to print the booklet or here to read on your screen.

Or the Diocesan selection of services can be found here

Or for your own private prayer, if you are still unable or advised not to gather, then the readings and collect for the day are here.

There is also another reflection from Val Plumb, this time on the Transfiguration which feast day was on Thursday. It is very thoughtful and poignant, exploring how we perceive experiences of God and of eternity.

Please also note the NEW instruction from the Diocese concerning face coverings, effective from this Saturday, 8th August:

“There are valid exemptions for some individuals and groups to not wear a face covering in these [worship] settings. In particular, those who are leading services or events in a place of worship, and those who assist them (for instance by reading, preaching, or leading prayer) do not always need to wear a face covering, although one should be worn especially if physical distancing cannot be maintained (i.e. distributing consumables). This exemption does not apply to worshippers, who should wear face coverings consistent with the requirements for any other public space.”

“In light of this we recommend having a box of disposable masks (widely available) to offer as people enter church as hospitality. You are not required to prevent people entering church if they are not wearing a mask. They may have a valid reason under government guidelines which means they do not have to.”

Please help those welcoming at services, Churchwardens, and others in charge of opening our churches for worship by complying with these regulations. Thank you.

David.
